"Stories have wings, and they fly from mountain top to mountain top...Stories, be they good news stories, best practice stories, or crisis stories [affect how an organization looks at itself]."

We invite you to be part of one of a series of planned dialogues organized by our synagogue to learn about your Jewish story and how you are involved in Jewish life. The results of these sessions will be used to guide our synagogue of the future.

We expect these dialogues to be productive because we will use Appreciative Inquiry, meaning that in each session, our focus will be on learning about your most positive Jewish experiences. (As an aside, significant research finds that problem-focused discussions sap us of our creative energy.) 

To ensure that we hear about everyone’s experience, we will divide into groups of two to learn from one another. Then, we will share our stories with the other participants at each session. We hope that as we learn from one another, we will generate a unique blueprint to guide our synagogue in the future!   

Because we really want you to be part of this initiative, we have scheduled a variety of options on different days of the week, at various times throughout the day and in different locations. Special children’s activities will accompany our session on August 15, and light snacks will be served to all! We also have scheduled a zoom session.

Sessions will last no more than 90 minutes. We really are counting on you. Once you sign up, we’ll provide you with more details.

• Thursday, August 11 at 10:00 a.m. after morning minyan at the synagogue
• Monday, August 15 at 6:30 p.m. (concurrent activities for children are planned to be held in a separate room) at the synagogue
• Sunday, August 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the synagogue
• Wednesday, August 31 at 10:30 a.m. Location to be arranged
• Thursday, October 13 at 10:00 a.m. Location to be arranged
• Monday, October 24 at 3:00 p.m. Location to be arranged
