    Rabbi Sam Schapera's Installation Gala

    We invite you to join us for Rabbi Sam Schapera's Installation Gala. ' A cocktail hour will be before the installation ceremony, followed by an after-party. Doors open at 6:45 PM Associate Rabbi Sam Schapera is a native of Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Cincinnati in 2009 to attend the University of Cincinnati. After receiving her bachelor’s degrees in Judaic Studies and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, she worked as an STNA (State Tested Nurse’s Aide) at Cedar Village. She moved to Jerusalem in 2014 to begin her rabbinic studies before moving back to Cincinnati in 2015. She was ordained in 2019. Rabbi Schapera loves being with the community at NHS and sharing her passions for the Jewish community. She lives in Montgomery with her husband, three children, and a cat.

    The Men's Club welcomes any community member to spend time with them at the Voice of America in West Chester, a historically stirring center, and afterward enjoy a good summer mingle. Guided tour of VOA facilities starting at 11:00, followed by self-paid lunch at a nearby restaurant.

    Thursday with Klau Library- Jewish Magic and Mysticism

    Is there a difference between a Mezuzah and a Hamsa? Join the Klau library staff to learn more about the evolution of Jewish customs and folk rituals. In this session, you’ll experience examples from the world-famous Klau collection of Kabbalistic works, Ilan scrolls, protective amulets, shivitii tablets and charms. This is a unique class that is a part of the 6-month class series from the Klau Library. Every fourth Thursday of the month.

    Printing became the main method to disseminate information with the invention of Gutenberg’s moveable type printing press in the 15th century. Learn about the development of print culture and Jewish contributions to the craft as this class examines the long history of Hebrew printing. Includes a DIY print-making activity.
