A class for beginner-level learning about Jewish culture and the Jewish religion. This class is intended for those interested in converting to Judaism and their partners, as well as any other individuals who want to learn the basics of Jewish living, belief, and thought.
If there are no Intro to Judaism classes listed below, classes may be full or we may be in the middle of a learning cycle, please email rabbi@nhs-cba.org to be added to the waiting list for the next round of classes.
Sisterhood Opening Meeting 2024
Sunday, Sep 15th 10:15a to 12:00pWe welcome all Sisterhood members to attend our opening meeting for the 2024-2025 (5785) New Year. Join us for musical entertainment and reconnecting with friends, both current and new. A light brunch will be served.
Hazak
Wednesday, Sep 18th 12:00p to 2:00pThe Jeannine Groh Trio will be performing at this month's Hazak event. The Jeannine Groh Trio is a polished professional group of Jazz / Pop musicians who also sing. They did a 3-year residency at the exclusive steakhouse in the downtown casino now called "Hard Rock Casino." The Jeannine Groh Trio is the traditional instrumentation of Piano / Keyboards, OmniBass, and Drums with male and female vocals. They have an extensive repertoire of Jazz Standards, The Great American Songbook (Gershwin, Berlin, Cole Porter), Samba, Bossa Nova and Contemporary Latin, Broadway, and some Pop, and play a variety of eras.
Women's Torah Study
Wednesday, Sep 25th 10:00a to 11:30aMeet at Cafe Alma with Rabbi Sam Schapera to talk about the overlooked powerful women of the Torah, and see how later Jewish texts responded to their feminine power. We will meet on the fourth Wednesday of every month at 10am. Your first drink is on us!
Kabbalat Shabbat at the Park
Friday, Sep 27th 5:30p to 9:00pJoin PJ Library and NHS for an end-of-summer Kabbalat Shabbat potluck dinner! We'll be meeting at Shelter #2 - Sycamore Shelter in Blue Ash Nature Park. There's a playground near the shelter for the children to enjoy. Please bring a dairy dish to share with everyone. This event is open to the NHS community, school families, and guests.
