Sisterhood

Northern Hills Synagogue Sisterhood
Our NHS Sisterhood is an active group of dedicated women of many talents. You don't have to be Jewish or a member of NHS to join!
Sisterhood's main functions are to support the Synagogue in various ways: financial, social, supportive, spiritual and educational, and to provide its members with great activities and social interaction. Sisterhood meetings often include a luncheon or dinner and a program of educational or Jewish interest. Most meetings are held on Sunday mornings to accommodate working women's schedules.
Members enjoy our Rummikub, Knitting and Book Review groups. We also run a wonderful Gift Shop featuring Judaica, art, jewelry, toys and our own Sisterhood Cookbooks. All Sisterhood members receive a 10% discount in the Gift Shop. The shop is open before non-religious events and Sundays from 10 am to 12 pm, or you may contact Candy Gellen at cgellen@fuse.net or Edie Neusner at neusner@fuse.net for an appointment.
We have fundraising activities, perform acts of chesed by supplying funeral meals when needed, send holiday gift packages to college students, and organize and conduct an annual Women’s Seder and Sisterhood Shabbat morning service. Members often volunteer to work in the Synagogue kitchen and prepare gourmet meals for various events.
Our upcoming donation project is in Memory of October 7th- Red anemones (Israel’s flower) and other flowers common to Israel will be on the Bima as silk flowers for Rosh Hashanah and other occasions. Sisterhood will also be ordering and purchasing the Yom Kippur flowers.
Even the "work" is fun when done together with this enthusiastic group! We are looking forward to a fantastic year and want to include you!
