Personhood, Human Life, and Abortion: Jewish Tradition’s Voice in the Contemporary Conversation

Sunday, May 7, 2023 16 Iyyar 5783

1:00 PM - 2:00 PMNHS | 5714 Fields Ertel Rd, Cincinnati OH 45249

Join Rabbi Noah Ferro for an engaging and thought-provoking exploration on the topic of Jewish texts and the issue of abortion.

Over its long history, Jewish ritual law has dealt with a number of topics that connect to contemporary social issues -one such issue is the practice of abortion. Delve into the sources and ethical considerations behind the Jewish perspective on abortion, including when it is permissible, and what it does (and doesn't!) have to say about the ethics, rights and legal status of a fetus.

This event provides a unique opportunity to gain insight into an often-misunderstood perspective on this complex issue. While this discussion stands independently, it is also held in conjunction with a petition drive to support a bill that protects reproductive rights in Ohio, emphasizing the relevance and urgency of this conversation. Don't miss out on this insightful event!
